Due to a DNF in race 1 I had to start last in race 2. during this short race I made it from last to 6th. I was eventually catching 6th towards the end of the race but traffic held me up so much that catching him wasn't realistic. In the beginning of the race I was driving very cautious to make sure the new transmission was working right and to keep my car in one piece. It was a fun race.

This race was on very old 13 heat cycle tires, so I was very happy with the result. The 1.6 SM is good at this track and we had some good battles. All of the 2nd gen SM's were on new tires, so the two 1.6's on old tires had a fight on our hands.

This was the first race of the weekend, I qualified the car 5th in class and had a nice start to end up running 4th. I was pleased to be close to the front running 99 SM's then unfortunately my 10 year old transmission died. The tranny served us well for a decade of racing and track days, but all good things come to an end. It ended up the pressure plate was the wrong diameter by a very small amount which over time weakened the release bearing.
